Harvest Fire Worship Center Cell Groups

Cell Group Ministries at H.F.W.C.
A Cell Group is a small group of people (between 10 –12) who meet regularly for the purpose of spiritual edification and evangelistic outreach, with the goal of multiplying into two groups, and being the central life group that is committed to participate in the mission and purpose of the local church. The term Cell is used to represent the basic building blocks of life that create growth through multiplication.

The purpose of a Cell Group can be explained through four terms: Care, Disciple-making, Ministry and Outreach.
A Cell Group is a Care Group
It is a place where Christians can gather together to care for one another through friendship, prayer, encouragement and practical expressions of love and kindness.

They can also come to find intimate relationship and fellowship with others of like faith and interest levels.

Jesus really emphasised the importance of caring practically for people (Mat. 25:34- 40). People respond well to being cared for and this is a key to having a successful group. Also, getting to know one another is really important and takes time.

A Cell Group is a Disciple-making Group

It is a place where Christians can grow together to become fervent followers of Jesus Christ through the process of discipling, teaching and mentoring.

A disciple is a committed follower of Jesus Christ who seeks to live a life marked by continued growth in understanding and obedience. The Bible, the Word of God, is completely adequate for every area of life as it teaches, reproves, trains, and equips you in order that you may mature in Christ.

A Cell Group helps make the necessary changes in our lives to be conformed to the image of His Son. By doing this we are therefore building, raising and empowering people. Helping them develop their potential in God through encouragement, affirmation, and challenge.

A Cell Group is a Ministry Group

It is a place where Christians can develop and use their God-given gifts and abilities to help others.

People feel fulfilled and a part of something when they are able to contribute. Leaders do not need to do all the leading. One person does not possess all the gifts, energy and time to do everything needed by the group. Team ministry provides a great deal of variety and people will be more committed to something in which they are personnally involved.

A Cell Group is a Outreach Group

It is a place where Christians can bring their friends, neighbours and relatives in order for them to experience the life that is in Jesus Christ.

God has called us to love our “neighbour” and share the good news of Jesus Christ with whomever we can. By doing these things we help people develop an outward and others-centred focus. We also provide opportunities to see others come to the joy of knowing Christ.

I need the Cell Group!

   To establish meaningful relationships.
To grow in my relationship with God and others.
To find strength when I am in need.
To develop the ministries that God has given me.
   To help me evangelise.

The Cell Group needs me!

To share my faith in Christ.
To meet the practical needs of others.
To be part of a team.
To develop the ministries that God has given me.
   To use my spiritual gifts.

MISSION STATEMENT FOR THE CELL GROUP MINISTRY

As members of the body of Christ, we understand that we must act according to the teaching of Acts2:24-47, “devoting ourselves to the breaking of bread and to prayer, eating together in our homes with glad and sincere hearts, and praising God.”

We also understand that we are one body, made of many parts according to
1 Corinthians 12:12-26.  “There should be no division in the body, but equal concern for each other.  If one part suffers, every part suffers with it;”

We will be completely humble and gentle, patient, and bearing with one another in love.

We will make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace according to Ephesians 4:2,3.
