Mission/Purpose
The Family Bible Hour Ministry at Harvest Fire Worship Center, formerly known as Sunday School, is an essential disciple-making ministry of the church. As such, it will be an effective means for teaching biblical principles and godly living to people at every age and stage of life. The primary purpose is to be obedient to the Great Commission: Making disciples who will fulfill the threefold mission of the church- evangelism, worship, and discipleship.
What are the reasons for Family Bible Hour?
Fellowship: We learn from the Bible in lessons, videos, audio tapes, speakers, etc. Yet, one of the most exciting parts of the classes is the fellowship of building relationships and caring for each other as we grow closer to the Lord in our daily walk.
Bible: The Bible is the focus of Family Bible Hour. People will be challenged to study God's word and apply it to their life.
Outreach: Family Bible Hour attendees will be challenged to reach out to the community and fill the needs of those around each of us in order that they may come to a relationship with the Lord.
Care: With a large church it is very important that no one gets left out. The Family Bible Hour is designed to meet the needs of each individual in the class by caring for each other during times of need or celebration.
Ministry: All individuals in each class will be encouraged to use their God given talents for Christ.
Teachers will:
- have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- be in good standing at HFWC
- have a heart that seeks to teach and disciple
- be enthusiastic, encouraging, understanding and flexible
- develop a positive relationship with people
- guide people into a personal and active relationship with Christ
- be unbiased
- be willing to receive training as necessary
